Article 1. The Work

We believe that the stories which survive generations, transcend their own place and time, and become universally accessible are the best mirrors with which to reflect the imbalances of the world,

AND,

We believe that there exist contemporary social, moral, ethical, and political issues which are illuminated by these timeless stories.

SO

We believe that the most effective way to bring these issues to local and global audiences is to capitalize on this special synergy by creating and producing new scripts through a unique hybrid of improvisation, writing, and design, each informing and directing the creation of the text.

The inevitable outcome of this highly collaborative playwriting process is dramaturgically sound, standard-bearing new theatre created by our company of theatre artists.

Article 2. Educational Outreach

We believe that theatre is fun,

SO,

We teach students how to build and tell stories, how to express and refine their ideas, how to work collaboratively, and how to communicate both person-to-person, and actor-to-audience,

AND,

We provide internship opportunities within our company,

WHICH,

Create the audiences and artists of tomorrow's theatre.

Article 3. Community Partnerships

We believe that the only way to create great stories which address real issues is to enlist the knowledge of a wide breadth of recognized experts from within our community,

AND,

We believe that theatre cannot exist in a vacuum, and the true measure of an institution lies in its conscience,

SO,

Five percent of our box office will be donated to a charitable cause relevant to the subject matter of each show,

OR,

Five percent of the seats available for a show will be offered free of charge, in exchange for a pledge of one hour of community service.
