The Company
Tellers of Story and Disciples of Dramaturgy
RTI was founded in the waning days of 2007 with a bold eye towards changing the game. No, scratch that... the game is fine. We just want to play it at a very high level. With a bold eye. And a timid nose.
Our Modus Operandi
We'll produce and direct material of our own choosing, join heads to create investigative adaptations, have a richly organic joining of design and text, bring in the best actors, partner with experts in the field for each subject we're addressing, go into schools to do educational partnerships and outreach, engage in social activity, train a pipeline of talented youth artists, get our shows mounted at theatres elsewhere, and ultimately develop a regional and national reputation for doing this unique style of theatre at a high level.
Mission Statement
We believe that the stories which survive generations, transcend their own place and time, and become universally accessible are the best mirrors with which to reflect the imbalances of the world...

Our Process
The company is devoted to a semi-improvisational, semi-scripted method of adapting classic plays with modern dialogue...

Company History
Jason and Sam, another RTI founder, came together at Buck's Rock in the summer of 2000. 2500 days and a conversation in a New Milford coffee shop later, they began the powerful theatre making instrument RTI. Since 2007 the family has grown and the productions have accumulated, with our collective eye focused squarely and intently on the future. In 2009, RTI stretched its wings past its original mission to produce Teeth of the Sons, the first new play not devised and created by the company.
